https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=655431 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=655431#c0 Summary: knode slow downloading newsgroup headers and switching groups Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Milestone 3 of 6 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: u.buckesfeld@web.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.12 SUSE/9.0.582.0 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/9.0.582.0 Safari/534.12 Sorry for the lame description, but I can't get it any better. I did a fresh install of 11.4M3, re-using my 11.3 home directory. I have forums.novell.com and forums.opensuse.org in knode, using an authenticated connection. Refreshing the headers sometimes takes extremely long, with the knode window becoming grey while switching to any different application. Worse than that, it usually takes 20 to 30 seconds to switch between newsgroups. The previous group is highlighted in the list, the new one too, but knode still sits on the old group: When you want to post to the new group selected, knode selects the previous one. It's not a server issue, IMHO. Thunderbird works fine. I have no idea how to give you more information, sorry. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.use knode and download new message headers 2. switch between different groups Actual Results: knode is slow, switching newsgroups takes up to 30 seconds Expected Results: switching between nesgroups shouldn't take more than 2 seconds -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
