I have the same problem with a ASUS PRIME X-570-PRO mainboard (if that matters) with Secure-Boot enabled.
Since the metioned update the bootloader does not load and I ony see a black screen
How can it be the same problem? In this problem you get clear error message, not black screen. Mixing unrelated issues neither helps to troubleshoot original problem nor to solve your problem. Granted, this bug report summary is misleading, bootloader was not "killed" actually.
I finally found a workaround by copying shim.efi and momanager.efi from openSUSE 15.2 installation-mediuem (old version) manually to the EFI partition
