ok so without X there are about 100 calls to intel_idle and ~60 read_hpet per
second.
powertop reports:
C0: 2.5%
C1: 29,8ms 12.7%
C2: 0,4ms 77.7%
C3: 0,8ms 7.2%
~2000 wakeups / second
40,5% (75,6) [ehci_hcd:usb1, uhci_hcd:usb2] <interrupt>
40,2% (75,0) USB Device 1-7 : 802.11 bg WLAN (Ralink)
7,0% (13,1) kworker/0:0
starting X and an idle KDE session, intel_idle calls jump up to ~700
now that i looked at the trace output for a while, as soon as NetworkManager
starts and connects the WLAN interface the intel_idle calls jump up and only go
down after a ifdown wlan0(or shutting it down with the killswitch)
I'm currently at 2.6.37-1.2-desktop (2011-02-21 10:34:10) but i could go to
current factory with no problems (my second netbook would stay at 11.4 release
so i could test with both versions easily)
