https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=734436 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=734436#c0 Summary: /etc/my.cnf !include_dir /etc/mysql should be !includedir Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: marko.kohtala@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0 mysql-community-server-5.1.57-0.3.1 patch mysql-community-server-5.1.45-cnf.patch adds to /etc/my.cnf line !include_dir /etc/mysql This is very good idea and would allow local modifications to be made adding files in /etc/mysql without editing /etc/my.cnf. However, the directive should be written without underscore !includedir as can be seen from http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/option-files.html. Because of this typo, mysqld does not read the files in /etc/mysql. (I looked at mysql in openSUSE 12.1, and it does not add this directive at all. It would be very good to have it back. The /etc/mysql directory is there, but seems to go unused so perhaps it is intended to be used.) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create /etc/mysql/local.cnf and add a setting there. For example: [mysqld] expire_logs_days=60 2. Execute mysqld --verbose --help |grep expire_logs_days and look at the value of the setting. Actual Results: At step 2 the setting expire_logs_days is at default of 0. Expected Results: At step 2 the setting expire_logs_days is 60. expire-logs-days 60 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
