2. Also what should the /srv/www/htdocs/index.html look like to use the Cacti package with Apache2 and mysql?.
Hi Glenn, Cacti has nothing to do with /srv/www/htdocs/index.html. Cacti ships with two configuration files for Apache: /etc/apache2/conf.d/cacti.conf and /etc/apache2/vhost.d/conf.d/cacti.conf You can choose which one to use putting either the string 'CACTI' (for the first config) or 'CACTIVHOST' (for the second one) in /etc/sysconfig/apache2 APACHE_SERVER_FLAGS. Both files set an alias, so you can access Cacti when navigating to 'http://localhost/cacti/' - which points to /srv/www/cacti/. When in need of a simple, working setup, please do not copy&paste the configuration found here [1] - this is only an example and needs customization.
