* Hmm, if you click on "enable 3D" and save the config you should get Load "dri". The question if you want to exit sax2 now should be answered with no and after that disable 3D again and save the config. You should get Disable "dri". All this can be done without exiting sax2 in between
I've been stupid. That way I could test easily. Unfortunately after enabling it, saving, disabling it and saving again there is no 'Disable "dri"' in xorg.conf.
* if you simply call sax2 as user sndirsch from your session the program sux is called to allow access to your display. sax2 should read in your current configuration. If it doesn't do that it can't access your current session... if that's true this looks like another new issue to me
sux no longer exists. It has been replaced by su some time ago. Could this be the culprit? Tried to replace sux with su, but this didn't help either. I think we should handle this seperately.
* 3D disabled is the default for sax2 and I recommend to leave it like that. When YaST configures X via libsax we enable 3D by default.
I disagree here. I would like to handle this the same way. It's unlikely that X doesn't start due to 3D enabled. It's more likely that X doesn't start with 3D disabled, since this is apparently no longer tested upstream. :-( -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
