https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=379545 Summary: /dev/full permission inconsistencies (wrong permissions 0666) Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- There seems to be an inconsistency about /dev/full permissions. After a fresh boot, it looks like this: # ls -l /dev/full crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 1, 7 13. Apr 2008 /dev/full # SuSEconfig --module permissions Starting SuSEconfig, the SuSE Configuration Tool... Running module permissions only Reading /etc/sysconfig and updating the system... Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.permissions... Checking permissions and ownerships - using the permissions files /etc/permissions /etc/permissions.easy /etc/permissions.d/mail-server /etc/permissions.d/postfix /etc/permissions.local setting /dev/full to root:root 0622. (wrong permissions 0666) Finished. # ls -l /dev/full crw--w--w- 1 root root 1, 7 13. Apr 2008 /dev/full After another fresh boot, it starts from the beginning: /dev/full is 0666 again and SuSEconfig.permissions sets it to 0622. I have never seen that in earlier releases. Shouldn't this device by default have the same permissions that SuSEconfig.permissions enforces?
