I created a /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-wlan1 manually and could successfully establish a fast and (for the 10 minutes I tested) stable connection using ifup. So driver+firmware are working ! Concerning 11.2: I updated my M8-test-machine with todays packages to kernel 2.6.31.3 and installed the firmware-package. Just noticed: Additional rpm output: Reloading module ar9170 FATAL: Module ar9170 not found. FATAL: Module ar9170 not found. => The module is called ar9170usb. After the reboot, dmesg tells me: [ 198.575684] usb 1-8: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 6 [ 198.727701] usb 1-8: New USB device found, idVendor=057c, idProduct=8401 [ 198.727716] usb 1-8: New USB device strings: Mfr=16, Product=32, SerialNumber=48 [ 198.727730] usb 1-8: Product: FRITZ!WLAN USB Stick N [ 198.727765] usb 1-8: Manufacturer: AVM Berlin [ 198.727783] usb 1-8: SerialNumber: 001F3F048161 [ 198.728021] usb 1-8: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice [ 198.976686] usb 1-8: reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 6 [ 200.117682] usb 1-8: firmware: requesting ar9170.fw [ 201.202680] usb 1-8: USB setup failed (-110). Self-compiled from git-repo ? I just noticed that its size is ~7.1kb while mine (on 11.1) is ~14.3kb... -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
