https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=398969 Summary: wyse winterm s50: problems writing to usb sticks Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: RC 3 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: oneukum@novell.com ReportedBy: mvidner@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: jkosina@novell.com Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=221311) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=221311) logs.tar: boot.msg and dmesg I tried to install 11.0 on a wyse winterm s50. The internal flash drive is not recognized (bug 375945) so I wanted to install on a thumb drive. With one stick, the installation went about 0.5GB through, then USB communication failed with -110 (ETIMEDOUT) and various problems ensued. With another stick, the yast process went into a D state apparently as soon as it tried to write to the stick, with no further dmesg output. Therefore Jikos suspects it could be a USB controller problem. I am attaching some logs from the second attempt.
