--- Comment #18 from Raymond Wooninck ---
I have installed digikam 4.5.0 on my factory system. There I have libexiv2-13
version 0.24 and libkexiv2-11 from KDE 4.14.3.
I cleaned out all digikam config and database files, so that I would have a
clean starting point. I copied a couple of mp3 files and your XCF file in my
pictures-folder and started digikam. It did not crash, but gave the following
output (as that I started it from a konsole):
raymond@HQVMT44011:~/Pictures% digikam
digikam(27696)/KEXIV2: Cannot load metadata from file (Error # 11 :
/home/raymond/Pictures/130bpm_funktastic_voyage.mp3: The file contains data of
an unknown image type
digikam(27696)/KEXIV2: Cannot load metadata from file (Error # 11 :
/home/raymond/Pictures/waterfall-1355.xcf: The file contains data of an unknown
image type
digikam(27696)/digikam (core) Digikam::ThumbnailCreator::createThumbnail:
Cannot create thumbnail for
"/home/raymond/Pictures/130bpm_funktastic_voyage.mp3"
digikam(27696)/digikam (core) Digikam::ThumbnailCreator::load: Thumbnail is
null for "/home/raymond/Pictures/130bpm_funktastic_voyage.mp3"
digikam(27696)/KEXIV2: Cannot load metadata from file (Error # 11 :
/home/raymond/Pictures/waterfall-1355.xcf: The file contains data of an unknown
image type
digikam(27696)/KEXIV2: Cannot load metadata using Exiv2 (Error # 11 :

So these are the exceptions that Gilles was indicating which libkexiv seem to
catch and just outputs them as debug output.
You indicated that you have an openSUSE 13.2 installation. Is this a brand new
installation or did you perform an upgrade ?
Can you paste the output of "zypper lr -u" ?
Thanks
