I have a normal KDE installation.
With splash=silent quiet plymouth.enable=0 ***************** booting works like a charm. My Leap 15.3 with KDE has no issues at all.
If I would install "gdm" with YAST, I would have to install much to many additional GNOME packages which I later would have to uninstall again.
dir default-displaymanager default-displaymanager -> /usr/lib/X11/displaymanagers/sddm
Sorry, I don't test this for you because the result would be: no booting issues (my asumtption)
This has a relationship with the boot. If you are not convenient with installing GDM, Could you please confirm that with Plymouth enabled, your system can boot success with INIT3? and may I see other information? When you enable Plymouth, Your VT1, VT2, and VT3 all don't have any output even if you wait for a short time? If there have some, What are they? The last thing is in the next time after boot failure, Please upload the supportlog. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
