Steps to Reproduce - From a gnome desktop, open a console and mount the WebDAV share gvfs-mount dav://151.155.248.9/WebDAV/ - Open a nautilus window and notice that under the places column there should now be a folder that represents this WebDAV share. Navigate into WebDAV share and attempt to open one of the .doc documents. Below is the command I used from the console: strace -o ~/strace.log -f -tt -s 512 ooffice dav://151.155.248.9/OOo%20Related/OOo%202.4.1%20-%20Regression%20Tests/i53885/commentanchortextishidden.doc Notice that the user will first be prompted with the "ASCII Filter" dialog. Then once the user selects a various filter, then a blank document is opened.
