Newer sane-backends configuration files would be installed as /etc/sane.d/*.conf.rpmnew I tested a sane-backends RPM package upgrade and it works this way for me and therefore I close the bug accordingly. Did you perhaps install SANE software from whatever third-party repository (e.g. Packman or something like this)? Regarding the other issue: Please do not report different issues in one same bug. Report each issue in a separated bug. A "general protection ... error ... in libusb" is very likey not a bug in sane-backends but perhaps an issue in libusb (compare for example bug 559697 and bug 596411) or a lower level USB issue (USB hardware or kernel). Perhaps other libusb packages help in your case too (see bug 559697). My USB scanner Canon CanoScan N1240U/LiDE30 which uses also the "plustek" driver works well on my openSUSE 11.3 system. Regarding USB hardware like "USB Cable Connection and Additional USB Hubs" you may have a look at http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Configuring_Scanners_from_SUSE_LINUX_9.2 also regarding "Trouble-Shooting (Debugging)". -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
