http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=501059 Summary: xterm in latin1 mode skips output after utf8 s-sharp Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 Applications AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jw@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: meissner@novell.com Found By: --- utf8 s-sharp is a two byte glyph c3 9f, where 9f is an APC-control-function from the C1 block according to VT100 specs. It is an unfortunate design that UTF8 used the C1 control character block at all. Xterm does exactly nothing with the following text, up to the ESC / string terminator. In the absence of any useful effects, I'd vote for configuring xterms defaults differntly. Default should be pass C1 characters through. This is configurable by adding echo '*AllowC1Printable: true' >> /usr/share/X11/app-defaults/XTerm or running xterm -k8 -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
