According to the Ubuntu bugreport
Option "AccelMethod" "exa" Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy" Option "ExaNoComposite" "false"
should fix the Xv issues with compiz and improve the performance. Could you give it a try? The INTEL_BATCH environment variable seems to be something Ubuntu specific.
BTW, ' Option "ExaNoComposite" "false" ' is the default for EXA anyway. # man EXA Option "EXANoComposite" "boolean" Disables acceleration of the Composite operation, which is at the heart of the Render extension. Not related to the Composite extension.
