Yes, this one has IGD aka OpRegion support:
http://intellinuxgraphics.org/ACPI_IGD_OpRegion_%20Spec.pdf
DRM_I915 has to be compiled in which should be compiled as a module with our
config AFAIK.
For what I can see debug is always on?:
in include/drm/drmP.h:
DRM_DEBUG_CODE
thus:
drivers/gpu/drm/i915/i915_opregion.c
should throw something like:
graphic opregion physical addr:
Public ACPI methods [not] supported
But I am not sure, it looks strange that the driver is that verbose by default.
If you see such methods Opregion i915 support is active and brightness changing
should work controlled through it.
Thanks in advance for testing. You could be one of the first trying this out on
a FSC. Already got successfully tested on an HP and ThinkPads.
Holger recently checked for backporting this, but it needs a lot more
backported. This could possibly be done for SLED11 SP1, 11.2 will have it
anyway. I wonder whether we get this working with a workaround for 11.1 also...
