This is a userland setting issue but I wonder who's setting the APM value to
128 to begin with? If the firmware is doing that, we need to add the entry to
storage-fixup. If something else is doing it, we need to find out which and
remove it as it can be destroy certain drives very quickly. Can you please
cold boot into single usermode (specify 1 at the boot loader prompt) and attach
hdparm -I output from there?
