This makes nginx unable to reopen its log files when logrotate instructs it so, as nginx runs as the "nginx" user. I have applied this change on the package branch I maintain: https://build.opensuse.org/package/rdiff?linkrev=base&package=nginx&project=home%3Avjt%3Aifad&rev=5 Unfortunately I cannot send you a submit request as our package is customized to our needs, it's not the general-purpose package that you must provide.
