I have the same problem: not a single CD is automounted or detected by the devices notifier plasmoid, so I have to mount them with mount -t iso9660 /dev/sr0 /mnt The most annoying thing is that it happens just with CD-ROMs, but not with DVDs, and I disagree at the sight of the report of this issue because, in my case, the issue in not associated with CDs that contains logical block errors, but it extends to every single CD, but not any DVD: every DVD is properly automounted. I am not very experienced reporting bugs. So I'll submit the following information that I hope be enough (suggest me if it is no so): openSuSE 11.2 Final ________ Linux ******* 2.6.31.5-0.1-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT 2009-10-26 15:49:03 +0100 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux ________ cat /proc/sys/dev/cdrom/info CD-ROM information, Id: cdrom.c 3.20 2003/12/17 drive name: sr0 drive speed: 40 drive # of slots: 1 Can close tray: 1 Can open tray: 1 Can lock tray: 1 Can change speed: 1 Can select disk: 0 Can read multisession: 1 Can read MCN: 1 Reports media changed: 1 Can play audio: 1 Can write CD-R: 1 Can write CD-RW: 1 Can read DVD: 1 Can write DVD-R: 1 Can write DVD-RAM: 0 Can read MRW: 1 Can write MRW: 1 Can write RAM: 1 ________ hwinfo 44: SCSI 500.0: 10602 CD-ROM (DVD) [Created at block.247] UDI: /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/storage_model_DVD_RW__DVR_111D Unique ID: KD9E.FQgPB9DXlaC Parent ID: H0_h.9rYShkUbe_8 SysFS ID: /class/block/sr0 SysFS BusID: 5:0:0:0 SysFS Device Link: /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:06.0/host5/target5:0:0/5:0:0:0 Hardware Class: cdrom Model: "PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-111D" Vendor: "PIONEER" Device: "DVD-RW DVR-111D" Revision: "1.23" Driver: "pata_amd", "sr" Driver Modules: "pata_amd" Device File: /dev/sr0 (/dev/sg5) Device Files: /dev/sr0, /dev/block/11:0, /dev/scd0, /dev/disk/by-path/pci-0000:00:06.0-scsi-0:0:0:0, /dev/cdrom, /dev/cdrw, /dev/dvd, /dev/dvdrw Device Number: block 11:0 (char 21:5) Features: CD-R, CD-RW, DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD+DL Drive status: no medium Config Status: cfg=no, avail=yes, need=no, active=unknown Attached to: #18 (IDE interface) Drive Speed: 40 -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
