The problem was that power_save option wasn't restored after resume even if the
power was plugged at resume time, I guess. Thus after resume, the driver works
as if in the battery mode.
When you replug the power cable and play the sound again, do you hear any
difference? You can see the current status in
/sys/modules/snd_hda_intel/parameters/power_save.
Anyway, the automatic power-saving can be disabled by adding the following to
/etc/pm/config.d/sound file:
SOUND_PM=0
