https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=408145 Summary: common bind configuration not possible using openSUSE's named startup script Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: andreas.pfaller@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- While the NAMED_CONF_INCLUDE_FILES variable from /etc/sysconfig/named is sufficient for may simple cases it is not possible to create configurations where the inclusion of the same include files is needed in several places (e.g. for a split view configuration of bind where different views use a common include file), e.g. 1) Adding only the include file which defines the views to NAMED_CONF_INCLUDE_FILES does not work because the "sub-included" files will not be copied to the chroot directory by /etc/init.d/named. 2) Also adding the "sub-included" files to NAMED_CONF_INCLUDE_FILES will copy them to the chroot but creates an illegal configuration (since they are also added to /etc/named.conf.include). As an easy solution I would suggest that /etc/init.d/named simply copies the complete /etc/named.d directory to the chroot directory.
