https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=472337 Summary: OpenOffice 3.0.1 can't save files in smb share Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: OpenOffice.org AssignedTo: bnc-team-ooo@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ced@fcr.re.it QAContact: kyu@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; it; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008121300 SUSE/3.0.5-1.1 Firefox/3.0.5 Installed OpenOffice 3.0.1.2-2.1 from OpenOffice.org STABLE repository. I use KDE 4.2, _not_ installed OpenOffice_org-kde-3.0.1.2-2.1 When I try to save a document on a samba share (smb:// URL) I obtain a popup stating: "General I/O error". This does not happen when I open a XLS document from a smb share, then modify, then save in XLS format. It happens on ODF documents (both already existent and new). I suspect Openoffice cannot create new files on a smb share, so when I open an odf (ods or odt, etc.) openoffice cannot create the hidden lock file and when I try to save it cannot find it, so it complains about I/O error or not existent file. Other KDE applications, like kwrite, are perfectly able to open and save documents on the same smb share, so I think the problem is in Openoffice. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. go to a smb share with Dolphin 2. open an ods or odf file duoble-clicking on it (if you open .doc or .xls file it works fine, only odf files have the problem) 3. make some changes and save Actual Results: It appears a popup stating "General I/O error" and the changes are not saved. Expected Results: Obvious: no popup and file correctly saved. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
