http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=556837 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=556837#c0 Summary: Computer randomly freezes, but mouse works and sound keeps playing Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rok.krajnc@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=328398) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=328398) lsmod output User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091016 SUSE/3.5.4-1.1.2 Firefox/3.5.4 Upgraded openSUSE 11.1 to openSUSE 11.2 from iso image. Previous version ran without this problems. My computer froze about twenty times so far, seemingly randomly. I am using KDE, but other than that, I don't think any single program or action causes the freeze. When freeze happens, I can still move the mouse, and the music keeps playing. I can also ssh into machine, kill (at least some) tasks, but the reboot command has no effect. While researching this on the internet, I came across a similiar bug in Archlinux: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/14594 They might be related. I also tried a different version of 2.6.31 kernel from software.opensuse.org, same crashes. There is also a mention of a 'task i915/0:1641 blocked for more than 120 seconds' in /var/log/messages - could this be related to freezes?
