https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=437268 Summary: blank screen on live-CD ... Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Beta 3 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: mmeeks@novell.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- I boot the live CD (openSUSE-11.1-Beta3-Build0075-GNOME-LiveCD-i386.iso) on my Dell system, and although in Beta2 this worked -perfectly- [ I got a working compiz, with cube, etc. etc. ], it is now broken :-) Now, instead I get a black screen, with no contents [ except a mouse cursor which changes as I move it across the screen as if the content was underneath ]. By running metacity --replace (with some more tweaks) on the console I manage to recover the system, and all works well; but clearly the regression is less than ideal. This of course persists to the live installed system, which is also not so good. It's not that clear to me what changed here really; though I guess the X server config appears to have changed thus: Section "ServerFlags" - Option "AIGLX" "on" Option "AllowMouseOpenFail" "on" Option "ZapWarning" "on" EndSection .. Section "Extensions" - Option "Composite" "on" EndSection from broken to working; which is interesting. I have an Intel 82865G card; hwinfo attached. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
