Still broken if I upgrade to nut-2.2.0-27 from Factory:
# rpm -q nut
nut-2.2.0-27
Does it work when the UPS was already plugged in when the system is started? If
not the kernel in Factory was probably compiled with CONFIG_USB_DEVICE_CLASS,
which is marked DEPRECATED in 2.6.22. See the following thread:

Summarizing, compiling with CONFIG_USB_DEVICE_CLASS is not a solution to this
problem.
Since openSUSE < 10.3 didn't include the hotplug / udev rules (that have been
in NUT since late 2005), this indeed only applies to >= 10.3.
