output of hwinfo
My DVDROM drive (TOSHIBA ODD-DVD SD-M1802) that was working without problems on
SUSE Linux 10.1 does not work correctly any more on openSUSE 10.3.
My second drive, a DVD writer _NEC DVD_RW ND-1300A, works without problems.
Symptoms:
- Loading the installation system from the purchased 10.3 installation DVD
fails in most cases on this drive
- Kaffeine hangs when trying to play a movie DVD from this drive
- data CD/DVD are normally usable on this drive (some problems mounting the
double layer installation DVD)
- Programs like cdparanoia fail to work (in most cases) with this drive,
cdparanoia sample output:
alexande@pinguin:~> cdparanoia -d /dev/cdrom1 -v -B
cdparanoia III release 9.8 (March 23, 2001)
(C) 2001 Monty and Xiphophorus
