https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=821768 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=821768#c0 Summary: YaST2 freezes during installation update if a download is interrupted - no timeout to retry Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 13.1 Milestone 1 Platform: i686 OS/Version: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: hrm_sfo@sonic.net QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Opera/9.80 (X11; Linux i686) Presto/2.12.388 Version/12.15 YaST2 froze during the update phase of installation, when the Internet connection stalled momentarily (a common problem with my ISP). A YaST2 file download was interrupted, and the procedure froze there. There was never a timeout and attempt to retry. To get off that screen I had to crtl+alt+F1, then ctrl+c to kill the process and reboot. After the reboot I stated YaST and completed the update OK. This has some similarity to bug 816326 (https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=816326) when YaST froze during installation trying to add a repository with an error in the file URL. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1.start installation 2.do update during installation 3.here's the hard part: have a file transfer interrupted during update Actual Results: YaST freezes when the file download does not complete Expected Results: After a minute or two, YaST should timeout and offer to retry or cancel, like it does in a fully installed system This was during an installation on a ThinkPad X41 using the DVD image written to a USB flash drive. New installation replacing 12.3 root partition /, keeping /home. Standard KDE 32-bit desktop. Dual boot with Windows XP. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
