https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=699868 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=699868#c0 Summary: hard lockup with crack-attack on Radeon RV350 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: seife@novell.slipkontur.de QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: Third Party Developer/Partner Blocker: --- Hardware: compaq nc6000 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV350 [Mobility Radeon 9600 M10] Recently updated to 11.4 Running 3D game "crack-attack" leads soon to a hard lockup (no ping, no sysrq) of the machine. Unfortunately, there is nothing in the logs and not much that helps debugging :-( Updating to X11:Xorg packages and the Tumbleweed kernel 2.6.39.1-31-default seems to make the system last a bit longer but after a few minutes, it still crashes. My user reports that it crashes if a large amount of boxes is removed in the game, hinting in "big" graphics operation might trigger the hang. With original 11.4, even normal gameplay (which I was able to do, no special skills needed ;) did hang. I'll try now with "nomodeset vga=0" boot parameters -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
