https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=851338 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=851338#c0 Summary: vmlinuz-xen doesn't work in XenServer Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: fabian@ritter-vogt.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Opera/9.80 (X11; Linux x86_64) Presto/2.12.388 Version/12.16 If I try to create a new VM in XenServer, "xe vm-start" just prints an useless "No such file or directoy" message. A self-compiled 3.12.0 kernel works fine. I tried it with Beta 1 at first and posted on the citrix forum (http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/338272-vm-start-prints-useless-no-such-f...) as I thought it's an issue with their kernel loader. But apparently it isn't.. My self compiled kernel (from kernel.org) also uses the "newer" 0x20c format. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Use XenServer or XCP (in my case XenServer 6.2) 2. Make a new VM from the SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 SP2 64-bit template or download the vmlinuz-xen kernel yourself and boot it manually 3. Try to vm-start it Actual Results: Kernel can't be loaded, crashes with useless message Expected Results: The VM boots. openSUSE-13.1-x86_64.iso or http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/13.1/repo/oss makes no difference. The openSUSE 12.3 vmlinuz-xen works fine, but I can't login (tty_ldisc_hangup). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
