I found this very useful on Kubuntu because I like to collect the URIs and modify them by adding mirrors etc and set them for download using aria2 (which accepts alternate URIs for the same file separated on the same line by tabs) at night when I go to sleep. It is also useful because I can then set various download options available to aria2 which zypper doesn't provide.
