--- Comment #13 from Jon Nelson 2010-07-13 22:56:40 UTC ---
Happening even with 98% battery.
Upgraded to new bios. no change.
Tried:
noacpi (no change)
noacpi noapic nolapic (the only difference is that, instead of the last line
being "ACPI: Core revision 20100428" the last line is "ACPI: setting ELCR to
0200 (from 0c00)"
no luck at all with sysrq stuff.
With this:
acpi.debug_level=0xF acpi.debug_layer=0xFFFFFFFF
except being noisy, it boots normally.
With just:
acpi.debug_level=0xf
it also boots normally (and rather noisily).
With:
acpi.debug_level=0xd
it does not boot.
With:
acpi.debug_level=0xe
it does not boot.
and with 0x1 it does not boot.
NOTE: I just booted with acpi.debug_level=0xf and acpi.debug_layer=0xffffffff
and it did not boot!
Last messages on the screen are:

I'll try to get a photo posted, later.
