https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=207300 Summary: Kopete lacks a keepalive feature Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: SuSE Linux 10.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: wstephenson@novell.com ReportedBy: jdelvare@novell.com QAContact: kde-maintainers@suse.de I am using Kopete (0.11.1) to connect to Novell's GroupWise server. My laptop is connected to a local network, itself connected to the Internet using an ADSL modem/router, which takes care of NAT. Unfortunately, the router deletes the NAT entries after 15 minutes of inactivity. The value is hard-coded, I can't change it. This causes Kopete to lose its connection to the server after some time, without any warning. When I later change my status or attempt to chat with one of my contacts, Kopete complains about the connection loss. So basically Kopete is mostly unusable for me. Would it be possible to implement a keepalive option in Kopete, to make sure that a network packet is emitted once in a while, making sure that routers like mine keep track of the connection even if nothing real happens for a relatively long period of time? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
