https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=744835 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=744835#c0 Summary: gnuplot does not build from source rpm on x86_64 machines Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 Applications AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dieter.jurzitza@t-online.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=474104) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=474104) patch to ensure X11_DRIVER_DIR to point to /usr/lib64/gnuplot .... User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:9.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0 When trying a rpmbuild -ba gnuplot.spec on a 64 bit - machine the rpmbuild fails. The reason for this can be found somewhere deep down in autoconf; on 11.4 the very same gnuplot rpm builds smoothly. A fix requires the steps as described in the patches I added to this report; however, this is nothing but a plaster than a real fix. It shows clearly that following the aclocal / autoconf calls the Makefile in src differs between opensuse 11.4 and 12.1 in such a way that the gnuplot_x11 binary is not installed to /usr/lib64/gnuplot ... but to /usr/lib/gnuplot. This is why the rpmbuild fails. I can hardly imagine how the build worked out on the builddeamon. Thank you for looking into this, patches attached. Dieter Jurzitza Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.rpmbuild -ba gnuplot.spec fails 2. 3. Actual Results: rpm-files are not generated Expected Results: rpm-files This patch ensures that the define X11_DRIVER_DIR points to /usr/lib64 on 64 bit machines -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
