--- Comment #3 from Ruediger Oertel ---
hm ... parted-3.2-flat (basically unpatched 3.2 plus
- parted-2.4-ncursesw6.patch
- libparted-sysmacros.patch (adapted for context)
... does not know the "type" command.
parted-32 (as in sle-15) compiled on factory:
works:
s390p21:~ # parted -a cyl -m -s /dev/mapper/3600c0ff0002612a8b50de45c01000000
unit cyl set 1 type 0x83
s390p21:~ # parted -a cyl -m -s /dev/mapper/3600c0ff0002612a8b50de45c01000000
print
BYT;
/dev/mapper/3600c0ff0002612a8b50de45c01000000:550GB:dm:512:512:msdos:Linux
device-mapper (multipath):cylinder_alignment;
1:1049kB:28.8GB:28.8GB:::type=83;
parted-3.3-flat (unpatched parted 3.3) does not know the "type" command:
s390p21:~ # parted -a cyl -m -s /dev/mapper/3600c0ff0002612a8b50de45c01000000
unit cyl set 1 type 0x83
parted: invalid token: type
parted-3.3 from factory deletes the partition:
s390p21:~ # parted -a cyl -m -s /dev/mapper/3600c0ff0002612a8b50de45c01000000
unit cyl set 1 type 0x83
s390p21:~ # parted -a cyl -m -s /dev/mapper/3600c0ff0002612a8b50de45c01000000
print
BYT;
/dev/mapper/3600c0ff0002612a8b50de45c01000000:550GB:dm:512:512:msdos:Linux
device-mapper (multipath):cylinder_alignment;
s390p21:~ #
looking at the sources I guess this is parted-type.patch
