It does not matter whether you create a new contact or an old database of evolution restores. On openSUSE 12.1 with Gnome 3.2 it works perfectly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. create a new Contact 2. enter birthday 3. a new calendar (Birthday+...) would be create at the calendar of evolution but the events aren´t visible.
