Ok, thanks.
So we probably do not want to fiddle with scheduler/priority code in ACPI
parts, this would be much too dangerous for 10.3.
What is totally weird is that another T41p I had, was not that hot at all and
it was impossible to reach higher degree C values than 80.
The same machine (not model, but the same machine) was reported to reach these
high freqs like on Robert's (also a T41p). It looks like there is an offset of
10 or 20 degrees added (starts at about 40 degree C when it's switched on, the
other one I looked at (Thomas Siedentopf's) started below 30 when I had it.
The AML code is pretty easy and there is no bug in AML.
Maybe a kernel with the latest "check for acpi interference" could reveal
something...
Only thing I could imagine is that we have again some very strange EC mess up,
(similar to the psmouse module on some HP nc/nx series) some time ago, where
even reboot did not help, because the EC firmware could hold it's broken status
over reboot/shutdown. However, this might even not be debuggable in OS, maybe
by bisecting...
Someone who still has a Windows on his machine could have a look whether after
booting Windows and 10.3 again, the temperature starts at lower values (just an
idea...)
IMO we should blackilst the machines and lower passive trip points there for
10.3 for affected machines, and close this one.
I added a patch now to blacklist T41, T41p, T42, T42p, T43, T43p and R40
ThinkPads to lower passive trip point by 10 degree C and activate thermal
polling with a frequency of 7 per second. That should help.
This can be tested by latest kotd in SLE103 branch in some days here:

Watch out for this changelog (e.g. rpm -qp --changelog kernel-xy.rpm |less):
