For reference see bug #893678 and bug #902771. I have no problem connecting with ethernet using wicked or wireless using NetworkManager. Now that I'm sure I can completely shut down NM so it isn't conflicting or running at the same time as wicked, I'm still unable to connect wirelessly with wicked. The status of my wireless when using wicked is always 'setup-in-progress'.
