After reading this openSUSE G+ channel post
https://plus.google.com/u/0/+openSUSE/posts/Z1RGMVDddFW, saying that this was
fixed, I updated to shim-0.9-4.1.x86_64. I also have
grub2-2.02~beta2-73.1.x86_64, etc. I made sure that the updated shim.efi
(/usr/lib64/efi/shim-opensuse.efi) and MokManager.efi
(/usr/lib64/efi/MokManager.efi) were in /boot/efi/EFI/opensuse by copying them
there. grub.efi seemed to be the right version there already probably from
invoking the yast2-bootloader to rewrite the boot info just in case.
Anyway, after a couple of reboots trying to make sure the contents of
/boot/efi/EFI/opensuse were what I thought they should be, I rebooted, enabled
SecureBoot in the BIOS and rebooted. I was able to get to GRUB (!). I can
boot openSUSE. I cannot boot Windows -- I get the identical error message that
I first reported.
