But that is what zypper should do (when it asks to do, already): killing the job, even he is busy. A 'killall packagekitd' does not care whether a job is busy or not.
Yes but the _problem_ is that Packagekit is "doing something" for inappropriate lengths of time. In my experience on KDE installs of OpenSUSE 12.1/2 KDE the user/administrator cannot use his/her package manager of choice _frequently/regularly_ due to packagekit. Is finally this clear now?
