https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=359657 Summary: Requesting Print-to-PDF Support Within CUPS Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Alpha 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Usability AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mglenn@cco.state.oh.us QAContact: qa@suse.de Depends on: 359643 Found By: Beta-Customer Hello again! KDE has a neat feature that allows KDE-aware applications such as Konqueror to print directly to a PDF file that is placed in a folder within the user's home directory. Unfortunately, other, less KDE-aware applications such as Firefox look to CUPS for their printing needs and do not 'see' this PDF support. What I would like to propose is to have CUPS pre-configured with a print-to-PDF psuedo-printer that would do the same thing as the KDE feature, but would also be available to all applications that use CUPS. A fringe benefit to doing this is that CUPS would then come out-of-the-box with one default 'printer' already installed, rather than the current nothing. There's an interesting article on how to go about this on the Novell website: http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/17636.html Thanks for reading. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
