Attachment #333604 contains a more interesting line:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
D ... [Job 27] /bin/bash: pnm2ppa: command not found
-----------------------------------------------------------------
and subsequently the Ghostscript call fails.
I think the issue has nothing at all to do with
"socket" versus "ipp" but with a necessary command
/usr/bin/pnm2ppa which is not installed.
Up to openSUSE 11.1 it was provided in the RPM package "filters"
(Printer Drivers (Filters) for a few GDI Printer Models), see
http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:GDI_Printers
The "filters" package is no longer supported for openSUSE 11.2.
It should work when you install the "filters" package
from openSUSE 11.1.
