https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=309063 Summary: Java ALSA support appears to be disfunctional Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 3 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Java AssignedTo: bnc-team-java@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: pbaudis@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Installing java-1_5_0-sun-alsa-1.5.0_update12-20 does not make Java use ALSA, it still uses /dev/dsp (tested with cgoban3); the lib is at its place. If there are any additional steps that need to be done to configure Java to use ALSA, they need to be documented in the -alsa package description (and preferrably not be necessary). Based on LD_DEBUG and strace output, java loads the libjsoundalsa library and even (successfully) opens alsa sound devices, but for some reason elects not to use them and go for /dev/dsp instead. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
