It doesn't seem like any help is going to come from Dell. They don't seem
concerned that their flagship Linux laptop can't generate touchpad pressure
data (something any old cheap laptop can do). I give up on them.
But I'd still like to know the answer to my above question:
Is it possible this could be a hardware issue, or something related to the way
Dell has implemented the touchpad into the 9360 XPS 13, and that this is the
root cause of the necessary events (ABS_PRESSURE, ABS_MT_PRESSURE,
ABS_TOOL_WIDTH) not being generated? And if so, doesn't that make it likely
that no amount of work on the Linux end (Opensuse or otherwise, or upstream)
would be able to fix the issue?
If the answer is that this scenario is possible, then I don't think this is
worth pursuing. If this scenario is possible, then I'm pretty convinced that no
one has ever gotten any pressure/sensitivity settings to work on the 9360 XPS
13, in any distribution or even in Windows for that matter. And if that's the
case then there's no use going on a wild goose chase.
So, bump to this question..!
