Probably. But at the moment there are no external disks connected,
to my system and the messages are still fludding in.
How to determine what they are?
Doing:
med111:/var/log # grep sd[dhgi] messages | grep -v "med111 kernel:"
does not reveal any reference to an external device.
If I connect my external drive, it gets /dev/sdf assigned and the following
message is shown:
Jan 9 16:10:20 med111 smartd[4077]: Device: /dev/sdf, opened
Jan 9 16:10:23 med111 smartd[4077]: Device: /dev/sdf, NO MEDIUM present; skip
device
Jan 9 16:31:02 med111 smartd[4125]: Device: /dev/sdf, opened
Jan 9 16:31:03 med111 smartd[4125]: Device: /dev/sdf, NO MEDIUM present; skip
device
That's for today, when I booted the system (twice).
It looks like the other devices are a kind of bogus devices....?
