An utf8 -> latin2 conversion could probably help in this situation. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set LANG=hu_HU.UTF-8 2. start mc, read the hint "Tipp" in hungarian 3. man mc Actual Results: Non-ASCII characters are incorrectly displayed.
