most strangely I have from the ps auwx output:
julia 3474 0.0 1.0 43476 10944 ? Sl Jul06 0:01
/usr/lib/gnome-settings-daemon/gnome-settings-daemon
..
julia 6121 0.7 1.6 80344 17372 ? S 09:12 0:03
gnome-control-center
julia 6128 0.1 1.2 52692 13000 ? S 09:12 0:00
gnome-keyboard-properties
julia 6130 0.0 0.7 24068 7476 ? S 09:12 0:00
/usr/lib/gnome-settings-daemon/gnome-settings-daemon
julia 6134 0.6 1.6 63868 17184 ? S 09:12 0:03 bug-buddy
--appname=gnome-settings-daemon --minidump=/tmp/63b0e8d8-dee7-5
so there is indeed a 2nd control center - but why !?
I believe I killed the X session with a Zap previously: is it possible g-s-d is
not responding to zap & cleaning itself up properly ? but if so, how can it be
connected to X & still be registered ?
