https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=379501 Summary: installation won't let me reinstall with current IP address Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Alpha 3 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: harbaugh@ncifcrf.gov QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- I want to reinstall my system using the IP address which is registered in DNS. But the installation program won't let me. It complains: *** IP address 129.43.1.108 is already in use by another machine! Just because I already have the IP address registered in DNS does *not* mean that it belongs to another machine In order to do a network install, I am forced to configure the system using a DHCP server using another address, which is annoying because then I have to change the network stuff to the 'correct' settings once the system is installed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
