Thanks to Jonathan Woithe (forwarded from a mail) you get this additional info
:) :
Having caught up on recent linux-acpi things yesterday it has come to pass
that a moderately important acpi-video patch somehow dropped off the radar
screen when the IGD stuff was merged. For recent Fujitsus the lack of this
patch does cause strange things to happen.
The rediscovered patch is in 2.6.28-rc6 and I have at least one report that
2.6.28-rc6 works much better on a recent P-series laptop. Therefore it
would be a very good idea for the bug reporter to try 2.6.28-rc6 and see if
that improves things for them. There is a strong likelihood that, while
maybe not completely ok, things will be considerably better than under
earlier versions.
What has probably fixed things under 2.6.28-rc6 is the acpi-video patch
which makes the system perfer IGD methods if supported by the hardware (via
video.ko). With IGD in place but without this patch the vendor-specific
driver (fujitsu-laptop) would fight with the acpi video module for control
of the backlight, resulting in odd interactions and strange/inconsistent
backlight behaviour.
