--- Comment #2 from Johannes Meixner 2009-12-03 09:07:27 UTC ---
There is no such thing as "THE" default print queue.
The system default queue is in /etc/cups/printers.conf
stored as "<DefaultPrinter queue_name>" entry
which is what YaST shows and which is also
usually (but see below!) shown when root runs
lpstat -d
Besides this any user can have his own default queue
which is stored in ~/.cups/lpoptions so that
any user who runs
lpstat -d
could see a different "private" default queue
which each user can set via
lpoptions -d queue_name
Unfortunately also root can run
lpoptions -d queue_name
which stores a third kind of default queue in
/etc/cups/lpoptions to maximise confusion.
See
http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Print_Settings_with_CUPS
By the way 1:
YaST will never ever change "private" user's settings
in particular because all files in the user's home
directories are sacrosanct.
By the way 2:
Regarding OpenOffice, compare bug #277721.
