https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=384559 Summary: Installation bug: Can't find hard disk Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Beta 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Blocker Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: tomvw77@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer Hi there, Computer is a laptop. Asus A7K-A1. I was hoping to eventually test issues wrt Atheros 5007 wireless modem and sound issues I had with 10.3. When I try to install 11 Beta1 from the DVD, I get a failure to detect the hard drive. More specifically, Looks like things start ok, if I press <Esc> to see whats being loaded after the intial splash screen I see the follwoing info JMicron 20360/20363 ACHI controller ATI SB600 IDE ATI SB600 Non-RAID-5 SATA drivers: ahci* Nothing seems to be a problem at this point, no error messages. Although achi seems to take a whil to load, no problems are reported. I then get to view the license and check my language in the install gui, and it starts to probe hardware disks etc. Thats when I get the error about not detecting the Hardrive. I've tried to go a bit further in the installation, but clearly somethings amiss as no autopartitioning scheme is defined. Hopefully this isn't too hard to fix so I can have a whirl at Beta2!
